ACTIVITIES

Aesthetic education is central to all activities of the Museum Sinclair-Haus. A team of artists and arts educators develops a programme for each exhibition inviting all visitors, whether they are children or adults, to participate in multi-faceted educational activities. Interdisciplinary events combine visual art, science, music, literature and dance, opening new spaces for thought and action. Cooperations with schools, universities and other educational institutions are a fixed element of education at the Museum Sinclair-Haus.

The museum is currently closed for exhibition reconstruction. We look forward to welcoming you to our exhibition "What is Nature?" in the museum from 13 September. Please note our opening hours and further information before your visit:

VISITOR INFORMATION

DIGITAL ART AND NATURE

Impulses for Creative Work at Home or in Nature

These videos have been made by artists to inspire you. We invite you to artistically explore nature – the universe, plants, stones and stories encountered in nature. Experimenting with materials and observing nature can follow different forms and lines of questioning.
What do your experiments with art and nature look like? Share your videos and photographs under #kunstnaturexperimente.

SPACE

As close as possible to space: create your own planets and constellations. The materials you need are a roll of cardboard, a needle and your mobile phone camera.

SILHOUETTE

Cut out plant parts and creatures from painted paper scraps and paste them onto an old book: in this way, you can create entire landscapes. Materials required: papers, scissors, glue, an old book and a flashlight.

WHERE ARE YOU WHEN YOU’RE DREAMING?

CHAOS INSIDE OUR HEADS

The Studio

The Studio is a place of artistic study and exploration as well as practical artistic work.

Inspired by the contemporary art exhibitions at the Museum Sinclair-Haus, children, teenagers and adults have the opportunity here to work with artists. Encounters, personal contact and first-hand experience are the basis of arts education.

The professionally appointed studio space is located under the roof of the Museum, offering inspiring and inviting surroundings for artistic activities and exploration as well as a broad spectrum of artistic techniques.

“Nature” is a thematic focus of Museum and Studio alike, which is why visitors to the Studio also invariably work in and with nature. The neighbouring Palace Park offers the opportunity to go in search of motifs and materials outside – thus, the Studio is situated between art and nature, both in location and content. With their interdisciplinary openness for music, literature, drama and dance, the Museum and its Studio offer spaces for thought and action for many art forms.
